Weekly Update

This week was awesome. We really stepped up and made things happen. We exceeded our goals and got numbers higher than I ever have here in Maysville. It was awesome. And yes numbers. It really is about the numbers. Something President Porter says is "There is a precious soul behind every number." Dont worry I'm not number hungry. I know that the key indicators that we have are indicators of our faith in Christ and how much we love and are taking care of His Children.

Even Christ knows the importance of numbers (1 Nephi 22:25). But anyway, this week was awesome. We had a lot of members come out, we found a good amount of new investigators, and William (Bill) and Bonnie were baptized! That was so sweet! After only 20 days of investigating They followed the example of our Savior. They are so cool. They gave me a cast Iron Skillet haha. But Saturday was way fun and the confirmation on Sunday went well too! I love seeing lives change. Miracles are truly flooding this area. I know that Jesus Christ is in this work. He is doing all. I love you!!!

Feb 22, 2016

Good Morning!

This week was pretty good!
Monday- Had zone fun day. We made tacos and played basketball. It was a lot of fun. Long drive though. My zone is awesome.

Tuesday- Did service at a museum and did some service for a member. We went and saw a less active that we have been working with for a while and He said that because of reading the Book of Mormon he wants to start changing his life to bring more positivity to him and his friends! We are now helping him make plans to invite his friend to church so they both can go. And he hasn't been in years!! He is so excited. It was awesome. Later we had a lesson with a former, and the spirit prompted me to put him on date, so we did! He is now on date for baptism for the 12th of March!

Wednesday- Interviews with President Porter! It was awesome. It was different than the other ones. It seems President and I have a much better relationship. We talked about what has changed.  We then talked about what humility is. Its not beating yourself up, it's recognizing your strengths and talents, and asking Heavenly Father who I can bless and how I can use them. It was really awesome.

Thursday- Walking day! everyone in the mission had to walk, it was nice weather so it was OK.

Friday- Did some more service and talked to some people.

Saturday- IT GOT UP TO 74 it was so nice not having to wear suit coats. So nice.

Sunday- I gave a talk in sacrament about Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and Covenants, I went a little over and I had to shorten it. lol. Not use to that happening. But this Branch is awesome. I love all of them so much. They are very supportive and very welcoming to our investigators. The Branch President is such an amazing guy too. He really cares and loves for his branch. Then later we took the sacrament to some people and they really appreciated it.

This Gospel is true. The Book of Mormon is true and it's power is real and amazing. I know that through the Doctrine of Christ Christ can change who we are. The power of His Atonement is unlimited.

William and Bonnie
William and Bonnie are a miracle. They are being baptized this Saturday!! They are so amazing. We have been working very closely with them. They love this gospel so much. They cling to it. They have made such big changes to their lives and I am so proud of them. They made us come over for dinner Saturday haha. We have such a good relationship with them but they also have an amazing relationship with the branch. They want to come to our weddings too haha. they are amazing. . Well I love you!!

Feb 15, 2016

Hey everyone, sorry I don't have a lot of time today. We have to drive to Cincinnati soon. But I am doing well. We have two people on date for baptisms. I am really really happy, and loving the mission life.

This week was good. Monday was a day of firsts...Well for one, I made the chicken enchilada. Turned out perfect, so good.. and... I CUT MY OWN HAIR HAHAHAHA. I really don't know why. We had clippers and I bought scissors so I thought, well why not. It turned out alright haha. I probably wont do it again. but it was fun, really stressful.

I almost died while driving in the snow, but luckily my companion is from a small town in Utah so he knows how to drive trucks in the snow. It snowed about four inches yesterday. We spent all of yesterday in Braken county, a place we haven't been. It's a bunch of back roads in the woody hills. I was driving until I started sliding in the snow haha. Then I let my experienced Utah companion take over. He is so awesome, I love Elder Broderick so much.

I love you all! The Church is true and Christ is our Savior.

Feb 8, 2016

Transfers were last week! Elder Broderick is my new companion. We were in the MTC together so we already knew each other! which cuts out that awkward first week of trying to get to know each other haha. He is awesome. He is so willing to work hard, which is what we do in Maysville.

We had such a good first week together. Our first night we put two people on date for baptism. They fell off because they missed church but they will be back on very soon. We met so many of our goals this week. Including 10 new investigators! that was so awesome!

The biggest miracle however was at church. So all of our investigators cancelled and none were going to show up to church, when suddenly two people walk in the door. Neither us or the sisters recognized them. So I went up and started talking to them. Turns out they just moved here from Colorado and were meeting with missionaries out there! So now we are teaching them! It was such a huge blessing and miracle. And they loved church. It was so cool. Truly a tender mercy of the Lord.

I definitely know that as we try our hardest and do our best Heavenly Father will deliver, even when you think He cant. He will. I love all of you!

Feb 1, 2016

Well today is the start of the new transfer! Well tomorrow is kinda. But anyway I'm staying and Elder Grover is leaving! This transfer has been a blast with him. I'm excited to see what this new transfer has in store.

We had a great workshop training this last Thursday and I received a lot of revelation for some of our investigators. We are starting to build better relationships with the Branch we are serving in. One person at a time. It's going great. Also something great, It's warm! It got up to 67° yesterday! It's been very warm this past week. I've been loving it! I am not a cold person. haha

Well I love all of you!

Letter to Mom
Yes thank you so much for the popcorn!! it was very yummy! and the sour punch gummies! those are my favorite.

This week was good. We had stake conference these past two days, and wow it was awesome! We had to drive a long drive and stay the night with the zone leaders, but fun none the less.
Our zone leader Elder Wilken came down on exchanges with us in a trio. That was a lot of fun. It was nice to have someone who knew what he was doing. But other than that not too much happened this week! The only exciting thing is transfers. I will find out my new companion later today. Elder Grover has been fun. Training is always good but I'm excited to see what it's like to not train/be trained haha. I'm excited to see the new adventures for this transfer! Love you!!
